A high-profile launch into digital newspaper colour for Océ customer Stroma in London has reaped rich reward with new business opportunities and significant national and social media coverage.
More than 30 guests – customers, journalists and prospects – attended with a welcome by Océ UK’s Craig Nethercott followed by presentations from Océ SBU Production Printing HQ’s Josef Simmerl, Stroma MD Steve Brown, Newspaper Abroad’s Andreas Qvist, Mirror Group’s Mark White and the Newspaper Club’s Tom Taylor.
One of the highlights was demonstrating the immediacy and power of digital printing with newspaper copies printed on the Océ JetStream 1000 that used photographs taken on the actual evening!
Océ announced a partnership agreement between Stroma and Newspaper Abroad, which brings 50 more titles into London printed digitally and thousands of additional copies daily.
“Magical digital technology! Congratulations Océ/Stroma!” summed it up in a tweet from attendee David Banks, the former editor of the Daily Mirror.
